A Sense of Place

My landscape practice moves away from topographical depiction to explore the terrain of sensory experience. The true subject of these canvases is not the sea or the countryside, but color itself: its vibration, its harmony, and how it is shaped by a fleeting light. The choice to paint en plein air is essential, as it transforms the creative act into a raw and immediate dialogue with the surroundings.

In this quest for atmosphere, form intentionally recedes into the background. The work breaks free from defined outlines, venturing into an expressionistic language that borders on abstraction. It is not a matter of painting a landscape, but of painting the air, the temperature, the sentiment of a moment. The canvas becomes a field of chromatic energy.

The final aim of these pieces is to serve as mnemonic gateways. They are not created merely to be observed, but to be experienced. My goal is for the arrangement of colors to act as a trigger, wresting viewers from their present and carrying them into their own emotional geography. They are an invitation for the viewer to see their own world anew, through my vision.
